Hi, I'm Shelyna Tinglin

Owner of The Tinglin Group & Tinglin  Coaching & Consulting

I received my Master's in Education at Texas A&M Commerce with a focus on educational leadership. With 4 teaching certifications, I continued my 15-year teaching career spending the last two as a dual-career realtor. I have developed dual-career and full-time continuing education programs for realtors, created and implemented curriculum, as well as hosted several successful masterminds, conferences, and retreats.


I’m currently a licensed real estate broker, and certified trainer approved to teach through Texas Realtors and NAR Designation courses. I’m a certified mentor and agent development director. I’m a graduate and ambassador of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program, Dallas Chapter. I’m also a public speaker having spoken at organizations such as Goldman Sachs, The Federal Reserve, Mastermind Groups with Title Companies, and Independent Brokerages. My esteemed colleagues have frequently called on me to be a guest instructor in GRI courses and partner on public speaking events such as with the Junior Achievement League. I’ve appeared on the A&E Show, Zombie House Flipping, season 1 episode 1, and Hot on Homes. I’m also a facilitator with Brian Buffini's 100 Days to Greatness program. 


I sit on the Board of Directors for Collin County Area Realtors, where I’m a graduate of the TRLP, class XII. I’m also the incoming committee chair for the Professional Development and Education Committee. I have trained members with CCAR, and the Greater Tulsa Oklahoma Association of Realtors, as well as other organizations.


I’ve self-published a book currently sold on Amazon called, What They Don’t Teach You In Real Estate School, and authored a book anthology; Secret Recipes of an Overcomer. I’m active in my community with local youth organizations and with my Sorority, The Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

Why I started coaching

What’s different about me is that I didn’t want to coach from a book. Not every person is the same, and they shouldn’t be coached like they are. We are individually and uniquely made and how we are coached and guided through this business should be just as unique as we are. Yes, there are boundaries that should be established and while the basics of real estate don’t change much, people do. As a coach I must maintain flexibility, start with understanding the mindset, and focus on the tools, resources and opportunities you need to BUILD, TRANSFORM and GROW!


I’ve always been someone who could learn things on my own quickly and re-teach them to others, but I noticed agents around me struggling to do the same. There were agents who would reach out for help only to get vague answers that didn’t help them solve their problem, doors closed in their faces, or being given the runaround. I remember helping an agent put a listing into our local system and when she called the brokers for support she was pretty much left in tears. I couldn't believe what I was seeing and hearing!  Many agents were frustrated and overwhelmed with the thought of doing this real estate business alone, and what I immediately realized is that something needed to change. It wasn’t just new agents, it was agents who stumbled onto successful beginnings, but didn’t know how to manage the growth. 


It was with feelings of empathy for what I was seeing and hearing along with an overwhelming desire to see others successful, that I began this coaching journey. It would start with masterminds, and over time developed into private one-on-one sessions. I’ve had the capacity to coach forty agents at one time, providing private growth opportunities. Education has always been the forefront of my passion, and now I have the opportunity to connect with business owners from around the world.
